TC and 3D: an overview
In our office there is always the best hi-tech equipment available, in the aim to provide the high-quality standards of our therapies. Recently we have opened officially a TC Cone Beam that can evaluate the patient’s anatomy in 3D and all the details needed for a perfect treatment.
The TC Cone Beam device allows us to see sections (tomography) and to produce a three- dimensional image of the skull (or some of its parts); the device works by X-ray used in the shape of a conical beam to be acquired by a digital sensor and then processed by a computer. Such a radiology system is the only one certified to study the patient’s anatomy; as an example, it is mandatory in implantology in the aim to guide the implants operative insertion correctly.
The TC Cone Beam is the new hi-tech system and has to be intended as the progress from the TAC (Computerized Axial tomography) Dentascan used since 1990s.
Our CBTC device is one of the few that has the chance to produce the correct diagnostic exam using a low-dose X-ray.
The TC Cone Beam machine allows you to reproduce sections (tomography) and to generate a three-dimensional image of the skull (or some of its areas) through radiation in the shape of a conical beam acquired by a digital sensor and processed by a computer. Especially if we have a case of implantology, the radiological examination is indispensable because it is the only investigation that allows studying the patient’s maxillary bones well to insert dental implants correctly. Until the 1990s the single exam that allowed for this type of three-dimensional study was Computerized Axial Tomography (T.A.C.) Dentascan.
Our TC scan machine is one of the few that pays great attention to obtaining the correct diagnostic test using a low X-ray dosage.
